  • This course is designed to improve a student’s everyday skills in writing, reading, listening, and thinking. Punctuation, spelling, grammar and writing will be emphasized. This course will concentrate on getting students to read closely, to think critically, to write in the forms used by business and industry, to listen discerningly, to speak well, to work collaboratively, to gather information from multiple sources and to understand the pertinence to life and work.
  • This third-year required course focuses on three major areas in social studies-the structure of the U.S. government and the forces that influence our government today, various aspects of the U.S. economy including some basic principles of economics, the role of the U.S. government on the economy, and the role of the consumer in the economy, and finally, a look at U.S. history since the outset of the twentieth century, focusing primarily on foreign affairs during that time.
  • English, Reading, Writing, History topics spanning Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior choices.
  • This course is the 9th grade English for students identified through the IEP team prosess as needing additional help with reading and writing. I have net with the English department regarding the standards, which are required in the general curriculum. In doing this I have aligned your IEP goals with the benchmarks needing to be met for graduation. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive 1 English credit and 1 Elective credit.
